Neck/back pain

Neck/back pain:

Most neck and back pain is mechanical in nature, so the most effective treatment is always going to be mechanical as well. Your spine can lose its normal function due to many causes: major trauma, repetitive micro-trauma, poor posture, overly-tight muscles, degenerative changes to the discs and/or vertebrae, and even stress.

We will evaluate your spine to determine where it has lost its normal function, then work to restore that function to the greatest degree possible, through a combination of manual techniques and physical therapy modalities.

Headaches:

Most headache sufferers can be helped with chiropractic treatment. We have found that when there is significant dysfunction in a person's upper neck, he/she will most likely have or develop recurrent headaches. This is because the nerves in that area have a lot to do with the "tone" of the muscles and blood vessels in the head area. By restoring normal function to the joints of the upper neck and reducing the irritation to those nerves, we are almost always able to help.

A small percentage of headaches will be unresponsive to our treatments, but it is always a good, safe place to start.

Sciatica

Sciatica:

Sciatica develops when the nerves of the lower back become irritated or pressured. This can be due to bulging discs, misaligned or poorly functioning spinal bones, or chronic irritation due to arthritis or bone spurs. Chiropractic helps by restoring normal alignment and function to whatever degree is possible. Degenerative discs and joints are not reversible problems, but optimizing the function of these joints almost always helps a great deal.

Arm/hand pain:

Pain or numbness into the arms and hands most often originates from nerve impingement or irritation (due to misalignment or aberrant motion) in the vertebrae of the neck and upper back. By improving the alignment and motion of these vertebrae, we are able to remove or minimize the irritation to these nerves. We also often work with the muscles of the forearms and bones of the wrists to relieve carpal tunnel-type symptoms.

Leg/foot pain

Leg/foot pain:

This is often caused by irritation to, or pressure on the nerves exiting the lumbar spine. This can be due to bulging discs, degenerative discs or vertebrae, or altered motion patterns of the lower back. By restoring normal alignment and motion to the greatest degree possible, we are usually able to remove or minimize these problems.

Sacroliac joint pain:

Sacroiliac joints transfer the weight of your upper body to your pelvis and legs. They can become irritated and painful due to a number of causes. Because there are no muscles that cross these joints, they are nearly impossible to correct with either stretching or exercise. Only chiropractic treatments can restore proper alignment and movement to these critical joints.
